Meet the Team

Báhoo Studio is proudly female-founded and artist-led, rooted in the belief that creativity thrives in supportive, inclusive spaces. Our team of passionate ceramicists brings a wealth of experience and heart to every class we teach. As instructors, our top values are patience, play, and personal growth—we're here to guide, not perfect; to explore, not rush; and to help you find your own rhythm with clay. Whether you're a total beginner or returning to the wheel, we create an environment where curiosity is celebrated and community is built through shared hands-on experience.

  • Muggy (She/Her) is a full-time potter (part-time spin instructor) living and working in Vancouver, BC. She first began working with clay at Fairview studios in Calgary under the instruction of Daaven Green and Dave Settles. Her primary focus is creating art you can live and interact with in meaningful ways, leading her practice into functional ware and lighting. Through apprenticeship, Mugs has become well-immersed in both wheel throwing, hand-building, glaze making, and all the messy bits it takes to make a studio function, She transitioned to teaching and making full-time in December of 2021.

As an instructor, she brings lightness into every class she teaches, fostering a sense of community and kinship with her students. She accommodates versatility in throwing approaches and prioritizes one-to-one engagement.

"Báhoo has been a place for me to flourish as both an instructor and an artist. Teaching others has been a deeply reflective practice for me, being challenged to find new and better ways to explain the how and why of different techniques, has been so pivotal in expanding my skills in my personal practice. Clay has so many lessons to teach about failure, attachment, expectations, and kindness to ourselves. There is such a deep gratification in guiding someone discovering this new medium and seeing them feel challenged by it and watching them grow through it"

  • Cam Hill (she/they) is a multi-disciplinary artist with a strong focus on ceramics, located on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples (Vancouver, BC).

Cam began handbuilding ceramics in their apartment late 2020, discovering the in’s and out’s of how clay moves and breathes through exploration and play. A few years later as their obsession and need for community grew, they opened up Swamp Collective (2022-2024)~ a communal art studio that acted like a watering hole through events, classes, and affordable drop ins. Though Swamp closed its physical doors late 2024 due to demolition, the concept reincarnates at Bahoo as drop in’s and classes return.

  • Wynnie (She/Her) is a Brazilian-Canadian artist working in Vancouver, BC. She has a diploma in Fine Arts from Langara College and BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Wynnie started teaching ceramics in 2018 while completing her degree. She is primarily a sculptor focusing on large scale abstract ceramic vessels.

Wynnie has formal training in wheel throwing, handbuilding, glaze chemistry, ceramic print making, and ceramic surface decoration. Her goal as a teacher is to offer people a new outlet to express themselves and push there creative capabilities.

“Ceramics is an amalgamation of chemistry, geology, physics, and art- absolutely fascinating. I love the fact that I will never stop learning and being challenged by the medium.”

FAQs

Does the price include materials?

Yes! Báhoo Studio class prices include all materials and instruction.

Do we need to bring anything to my class?

No! Just make sure your nails are short.

How do your class levels work?

Our curriculum is set up to take you through beginner’s levels 1 through to advanced level 4 based on your cumulative experience. Each workshop blends seamlessly into the next. See current pottery classes available here.

What temperature does the studio fire to?

Cone 5/6!

Can I bring in glazed work from another studio to complete or fire?

No, we don’t accept clay or works from other studios, otherwise, we run the risk of some pretty expensive accidents like over-melting in the kiln. That’s no fun for anyone!

How long do I have to wait until I can pick up my finished pottery?

This depends on the size of your finished piece and when your class finishes. Drying can take 2-7 days, plus firing in the kiln. Most pieces are ready in about 14-21 days after your class has finished. We appreciate your patience as we navigate getting your work returned to you as soon as we can.

What makes you different from other pottery studios in Vancouver?

Báhoo Studio is far more than a pottery studio – it’s a place to connect, create and build community. We focus on creating a curriculum that prioritizes foundational knowledge and instruction that’s tailored to students’ goals and progression.

No class at Báhoo is the same either – and that’s on purpose. We embrace each instructor’s authenticity, allowing our students to choose a workshop where they’ll thrive.
