Drop Ins | Handbuilding
All Drop Ins are lead by Cam Hill (she/they) of SWAMP
Looking for a casual, creative way to play with clay? Our Handbuilding Drop-In Evenings are perfect for beginners, hobbyists, and anyone wanting to unwind and explore ceramics in a relaxed studio setting.
These sessions happen twice a week and are open to all skill levels — no prior experience needed.
How It Works
Reserve Your Spot: Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking ahead. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows but that is not guaranteed.
Session Length: Each session is 2 hours, with access to tools, 3lbs of clay, and studio guidance.
Guidance: Demo’s will happen for the first 15 minutes of session. Cam will be there to support throughout the session onwards.
What You’ll Do: Explore coil, pinch, and slab techniques to build your own unique ceramic pieces. Instructors are on hand for guidance and support.
Want to Keep Your Work?
To finish and keep any piece you make, you’ll need to book a minimum of two sessions:
One to build
One to glaze and finish after the bisque firing
All pieces must be glazed within 2 weeks of bisque firing to ensure proper studio flow and storage management.
Items larger than 6” x 6” cost $4-$14 for the glazing and firing fee depending on the size per item.
Studio Policies
Storage: In-progress work is held for up to 2 weeks. After that, it may be reclaimed or recycled.
Finished Work Pickup: Glazed items are usually ready 2–3 weeks after your glaze session. Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days.
